Meet the Counselor
Nick Coniglio
M. Div., M.A., LPC, NCC
Nick Coniglio is a Christian who practices counseling as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
He is from the Chicagoland area and was raised in an Italian-American family. He then enlisted in the US Air Force and while living overseas, the gospel was made clear to him and he committed to a life of following Christ.
After his time in the military, Nick attended Samford University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree and then Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Counseling degrees. He first worked in the psychiatric department at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham, AL and then for five years with Pathways Professional Counseling before starting Alongside Counseling Center, LLC.
Nick’s style of counseling is considered integrative – operating within the bounds of biblical truths and modern psychology. He desires to connect clients with their purpose using existential, narrative, cognitive, and trauma-informed therapies (including being trained in EMDR therapy).
Though Nick is firm in his Christian beliefs and has training to integrate faith and psychology, his faith is NOT projected onto clients but can be included or discussed at the request of the client. He recognizes not all people share these beliefs and is welcoming toward a person of any faith or belief system. His hope is to help each client struggling with their depression, anxiety, grief, and traumas experience genuine healing and relief.
Nick lives in Auburn with his wife of 12 years and kids.
